The pandemic continues to present many obstacles for delivering essential cleft surgical and comprehensive care programs in the low- and middle-income countries where we work. Thankfully, we have thousands of locally-trained medical volunteers who ensure that, whenever it is safe, we are ready to care for the next waiting patient. We’re adapting existing programs, like speech therapy, psychology and social work to reach more patients virtually, and developing new programs, like nutrition for newborns, to deal with an ever-changing world.

Our program investments this year have allowed us to allocate resources strategically, re-allocate funding to respond to local needs and changing pandemic conditions, and commit funds for the future needs of the children currently waiting for surgery and care. This alleviates the stress for parents and transforms that stress into hope. We are rebounding with purpose and it’s all thanks to you!
