Children and families across Honduras are preparing for a special week filled with hope.
Kids full of joy, imagination and big dreams are waiting for the moment that will change their lives forever, so they can join the other children at school and on the playground with greater confidence.
Because of the support from generous partners, 200 patients will be attending the Operation Smile Honduras surgical program from November 7 to 14 for the life-changing chance to receive their new smile. They will be joined by over 60 compassionate and skilled volunteers who help make these incredible transformations possible.

Day 1 – November 7
Families bring their children to the surgical program for a thorough health evaluation, where specialized medical volunteers check to see if the child is healthy enough to undergo surgery.
This process helps determine the right area of care that a child needs while also ensuring patient safety and wellbeing is prioritized every step of the way.
Day 2 – November 8
Announcement day is one of the most anticipated moments for caregivers. Families gather with hope as they wait to hear whether their child has been selected for surgery.
It can also be one of the most difficult days, as not every child is able to receive surgery immediately. For those families, our expert medical volunteers continue to provide the comprehensive care and support needed to help their child become ready for surgery as soon as possible.
For families moving forward in the process, the news brings both relief and excitement! While their child prepares for surgery, our team helps them feel informed and confident by answering questions and providing guidance on every step of the surgical journey, from preparation through recovery and beyond.
Days 3 to 7 – November 9 – 14
The time for their new smile has finally arrived, and hope expands into joy!
Thanks to the generosity of our partners, caring volunteers work together to deliver safe, life-changing surgeries to kids who need it most. Gratitude is seen in the smiles that fill the room and in the joyful laughter that echoes in the halls as caregivers excitedly reunite with their children, exchanging warm hugs and tears of happiness.
And as families begin heading back home, their path is lit up with hope for a healthier future.
