Ride Today to Change a Child’s Tomorrow

Hey Canada!

Get ready to move! Cycle for Smiles is back for the entire month of June, and we want YOU to join us!

That’s 30 days of movement, fundraising, and making a life-changing difference all in support of children born with cleft conditions around the world. Whether you cycle, walk, run, roll, or dance your way through June, every step you take helps deliver essential surgeries and care to kids who deserve to grow up smiling.

Why We Ride?

Across many low- and middle-income countries, families often travel over 50 kilometres to reach medical care. That’s why our challenge is simple but powerful: move 50 kilometres throughout June while raising funds to support cleft surgeries for children who need them most.

Meet the Faces Behind the Fundraising

This event is about so much more than kilometres. It’s about community, hope, and real stories that inspire us to keep moving. Meet three amazing Canadians participating in Cycle for Smiles 2025, and discover what motivates them to make a difference.

“I am participating in the Cycle for Smiles 2025 for my daughter Nora, who was born with an unexpected soft cleft palate November 2023. I am participating by running and taking Nora and her brother for walks to account for the extra mileage. Nora was born 5 days before her due date and, unexpectedly, found her cleft of the soft palate in Woodstock, Ontario by the nurses. We were transferred to NICU in London for 9 days where the amazing team assisted us. We spent those days learning to bottle feed, and what our future holds for her. As difficult as it was, I am so glad we had a great team and organization to support us. Doing this fundraiser allows us to raise money to assist other cleft-affected kids receive what they need and research which is so important to us. Nora had her surgery in January 2025, and is now thriving and looking forward to her future.”

“I’m walking or biking every single day to support Operation Smile. Each day looks different —sometimes it’s a peaceful walk, other times a long bike ride — but I am committed to showing up daily. I had the privilege of going on a mission with Operation Smile and saw firsthand the strength of the kids, the love of their families, and just how much support is needed. That experience left a mark on me, and it’s what’s driving me to keep going every day this month — with gratitude, purpose, and hope that every step or stride can help bring more smiles into the world.”

“I am proud to be part of Cycle for Smiles because this cause is deeply personal to me. I was born with a cleft lip, and thanks to the care and support I received, I was able to grow up with confidence and a smile I’m proud of.
Not every child gets that same opportunity — but that’s what Operation Smile Canada is working to change. Cycle for Smiles isn’t just a fitness challenge — it’s a powerful way to promote wellness, connect with others, and support life-changing surgeries for children around the world. Whether I’m cycling, walking, running, or playing soccer — I’m doing it for smiles, and for the kids who are going through it right now.”
